Shopping for upholstery
I stopped over my girlfriend’s house one day and a little while into our visit she asked me if I would like to accompany her to the upholstery store. Well I really didn’t want to go to the upholstery store however I did want to spend time with my girlfriend so I went. She was having a chair reupholstered.
We walked into the upholstery store and she started looking at the walls and walls of fabric. I was completely lost. And simultaneously astonished at the prices of fabric! I asked her what colors she was looking for and what type of pattern. I had no idea if there would be any fabric on clearance because I’ve never been in an upholstery store before. So, as I normally do, I wandered off looking for the clearance section. And in the back of the store – what did I find (much to my surprise)? A clearance section! The clearance section consisted of fabric that was no longer being sold or the end of a fabric roll and wasn’t enough to cover most pieces of furniture. And my luck got even better when I found a pattern that I thought she might like.
So I suggested that she take a walk to the back of the store. When she saw the fabric and pattern she immediately loved it! And it was just enough to reupholster her chair. I believe her total discount was about 40% off the regular price. She was so excited that she got her fabric at a discount that when her mom called minutes later we left the store she explained to her mom that my bargain shopping skills saved her a bunch of money!
I love it when that happens!
Clearance stuff is everywhere – you just have to look.
Oh and the chair is beautiful!
